Current Events Expectations

1. The current events homework assignment is due every week for Government students and every other week for History students (see schedule below). Please locate an article in the newspaper, or electronically, to submit with the completed form. You may email the link to your article to Mr. Dugan (william.dugan@) by 10 PM the day before the assignment is due. Mr. Dugan will print the article for you and place in your folder. The article must be dated within a week of the due date. The student may turn in the assignment late for half credit.

2. Please answer all questions in complete sentences. The summary paragraph(s) must include all relevant information (who, what, where, when, why). Please do not copy the article into your summary.

3. This weekly assignment is worth 20 points. Points will be deducted for incomplete answers to any of the questions. Additionally the article must be newsworthy and an appropriate length. Articles should be at least 200 words long or 8 paragraphs (this is a guideline, do not count the words). Sports and/or entertainment articles are not appropriate unless the event described is newsworthy (i.e.: steroids scandal, death of an icon, etc...).
