The varsity tennis team played well in their two dual meets last week. On Thursday they traveled to Denton Ryan and battled to a 5-5 tie in matches. Two wins came the girls singles players Mickey Griffith and Maddie Strange. Griffith won 6-1,6-1 while Strange won 6-0,6-1. Both girls doubles teams also won. The team of Maggie Quy & Michelle Perdue won 6-2,3-6,6-2 and the team of Jane Speiser & Madolyn McPhail won 6-4,6-1. The final Krum victory came in the #2 mixed doubles match. Cameron Corey & Cindy Perdue won in a third set tie-breaker 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.

On Friday, Denton High School came to Krum and defeated the Bobcats by one match. Krum wins came from both girls singles players, with Mickey Griffith winning 7-6,6-1 and Cindy Perdue winning 6-3,6-4. The #2 girls doubles team of Jane Speiser & Madolyn McPhail won their match 6-3,6-1. And the fourth victory came in the #2 mixed doubles match when Cameron Corey & Julie Gee won 7-5,6-2.

The team will compete in its first tournament of the season on Friday at the Ennis Invitational.

Krum JV tennis tied Argyle JV 4-4

The Powerlifting Team competed at the Anna Invitational on January 17th. Top 5 finishers for the meet were Mikayla Woods (1st Place), Harley

Drenner (5th Place), Piper Welch (4th Place), Nicole Pearson (3rd Place), JR Gipson (4th Place).

The next meet will be in Perrin Whitt on January 24th.

The Lady Cats are 2-2 in district play with 63-45 road win over Aubrey Tuesday night. The lady cats were led by Haley Lewis with 19, which included 5 three's. Haley White hit 3 three's closing out the night with 10 points. Mackenzie Ripple added 9 points and 11 rebounds, Sadie May 8, Bradie Simmons added 5. Kylee Myers pulled down 12 rebounds and scored 4 points. Keni Reese both scored 4 and Rhett Robinson and Sydney Lewis 2. Krum girls and boys will host Argyle on Friday night.
