President's Note
Since our last chapter luncheon, the state of Texas has endured an eventful spring with severe thunderstorms, hail, and flooding that has caused billions of dollars' worth of damage and tens of thousands of weather-related claims.
Many of our members are among the first responders called in to help our policyholders get back on their feet after a loss. Make no mistake that our industry is responsible for restoring people's lives after a claim. Sometimes it's easy to think about a car as just a car; but for most people it's their way to get to work and provide for their family. A house is not just a piece of property, it's someone's home to raise their family. It's this service to our policyholders that sets our industry apart and one that I'm proud to represent.
Jeff Ambrose Chapter President
In this spirit of service, our chapter was proud to sponsor the 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament hosted by the Associate Board of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation. The Tournament raised almost $50,000 to support local charities
Our next chapter event is our annual Joint Meeting with DFW RIMS. The Keynote Speaker will be EWI Re Senior Vice President Scott Uhl who will be providing a timely analysis of emerging D&O risks in the oil, gas, and energy sectors.
Inside this issue:
We are excited to see our RIMS colleagues and hear Scott's unique perspective on the challenges facing the D&O market in the oil, gas, and energy sector.
