INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Part One of Spanish Resources for Working with Unaccompanied Children! The first part of this resource presents a bilingual (English-Spanish) glossary of terms covering a wide range of topics often featured in Know Your Rights (KYR) presentations or used in the representation of UC. The resource begins with terms related to being in ORR custody and life after custody and then moves on to words related to immigration court, forms of relief, and other legal concepts. The glossary provides the Spanish equivalent ? or equivalents, in some cases ? to the English word or phrase. We realize that language is fluid and not conducive to a one-size-fits-all approach; indeed, you might be surprised by or unfamiliar with some of the translated terms included here, and we encourage you to use your best judgment when developing your materials. As direct legal service providers, you are in the best position to know which word(s) will be most understood by the children you serve ? to that end, this glossary is meant to serve as a helpful, in-the-moment resource, but please do not feel limited by it. We consider this glossary to be a living document, so please feel free to send any related comments, questions or suggestions to William Castillo Guardado at wcastillo@. ?Mil gracias!
