I finally at book 3 and all the songs are very easy to listen. I love all suzuki book even my teacher isn't following suzuki method (I am adult). Highly recommended for any beginner. Overall I love this product.

The book on its own is just more sheet music, much of it available online for free. BUT...with the companion CD...magic. A wonderful system (I use the books & CDs on my own as adjunct to my regular lessons). These are helping me to improve more and quicker than I otherwise would

(comparing myself before and after using these books and CDs.). Try Book and CD 1 and see what you think. I came back for more.EDIT / UPDATE: I have decided that the Suzuki CDs, for most pieces, are too fast for someone who is learning to play. If you can re-record and play back with a slower-downer app, that would be good. In lieu of that, there are a couple of cello teachers who have recorded the pieces slightly slower, or even lessons on the pieces, on youtube.

This is a good and challenging book for either competition, solo and ensemble, and just for plain old fun! There is a piano accompaniment that comes with this book that includes the cello parts ( really, the main songs that are numbered with the big number).

The Suzuki method is a tool, which a good teacher can use to cleverly structure the building and understanding of cello playing technique. The good teacher is essential, and fortunately I have one! It is working, because I am now in book three. (The CD's are recorded at a very fast tempo. I prefer to learn the notes slowly and put the speed into it later, without killing the music.)

Another great book from Suzuki! My daughter just started this book and as with the other Suzuki Cello school books she has completed it is a nice collection of music that offers the student a challenge while continuing to instill the love for music.

My son is in his 3rd yr of playing cello, and enjoys playing the songs in this book. It includes a nice arrangement of one of my favorite pieces: Minuet from Sei Quintetti for Archi No. 11, Op. 11, No. 5 in E Major (L. Boccherini). All of the songs are played with a piano on the CD (sold separately) which makes it fun. It seems to me they got the difficulty just right, as my son can sight read the easy parts of each song, but will have to put forth some effort to get thru the entire piece.

Another great music learning book from Suzuki. This is our 3rd; nice learning progression and building of complexity through the books. My daughter thought the songs were fun.

This volume is full of great songs every single of them, and it is indeed the best repertoire for Cello.
